On a Sunday afternoon, I went with a friend down to the Battleship Cove. I captured this photo of the fin of a boat. I cropped out the bottom of the photo and really focused in on the fin to capture the pattern and texture that is on the boats due to the material the boat is made out of. White balance was sunny because the natural light from the sun. The ISO is at about 800. I used color and played the levels and exposure to make the background shadow darker.

I went on a field trip for my Economics class to JFK Library in Boston and I captured this photo inside the conference area we were sitting in. I choose to convert it to black and white because it shows contrast and shadows. You can see contrast between the blue sky and white clouds. Throughout the photo there are lines within the windows and the railing behind it. There is also pattern in the different square shape windows. I was standing about ten feet from the window to capture the pattern of the windows and make it like a view finder into the background.

One day after school I went with my friend Sarah to the side of the school and we went in the woods to take photos. I captured this dynamic photo that has lines from the power lines leading from the top of the photo. It was during sunset so there was a shadow on the buildings and towers ahead. There is also contrast within the colors with the blue sky and yellow towers. I used a cloudy white balance and an ISO of 800. I was far away from the background but because I cropped the bottom of the photo it makes it look like I took the photo from up high.

From a upward angle, I took the photo from below the power line. Theres so many lines from the wires connected to power lines and the pattern within it. I choose to put the photo in black and white because it allows it to be on a grey scale which shows the darks from lights. I love the contrast between the background and the object, it really emphasizes the power line. The white balance is cloudy and the ISO is 800. Because I cropped the photo and just focused on the top of the power line, it made it look like I was close to the power line but I was really standing on the ground.

I choose this photo because its a beautiful portrait of my friend Isabel. I love the dark background with the light reflecting on her face. The shadows on her face add to the portrait because half of her face is hidden which makes the photo serious. The light was positioned to the upper left so the light reflects off her forehead and nose. Her eye is the focal point of the photo.

This is a double exposure of a portrait and power lines photo. I love the portrait with the dark background and the hand covering the other side of his face that is not covered by a shadow. The photo really focuses on his eyes. The power lines over the portrait just adds to the dark photo because the power lines are dark. The lines from the power lines adds a geometric design to the portrait. I used dark opacity and lowered it to make it faded into the portrait.
